Re K's timeshare - From our own woeful personal experience, re-selling a timeshare is virtually impossible. We bought one in 1999, not putting much thought into it as we were railroaded with the free breakfast. We're a simple camping/drive up north type of family, not into beaches and hot spots. Ha! Tried to sell it the minute we signed on the dotted line. Paid approximately $1000 to two different companies (both American) to list it, to no avail. Every year we were on the hook for $370 (and rising) maintenance fees. Last year I was told by the company we bought it from that we could simply walk away from the deal, swallow what we had lost up till then, and be free and clear. Where were they all those years I kept calling them, requesting help to sell the darn thing. Very bad decision we made buying it, and never again. I get physically ill when I hear the term timeshare. I know many people are happy with this system, but it just was not for us. Good luck in your selling efforts.

Phew, that was a whole lot to absorb in one sitting!
So many financial predicaments out there, you Gail, are an angel for having this blog site.
(Now I need to put in a call my credit card company and lower my available credit limit -- even though I pay it off every month)
